Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or a casual rider, this event is open to all skill levels. Ardattin NS is celebrating Bike Week with a fun and engaging series of cycling activities for pupils and families from Tuesday 13th to Friday 16th May.
The Cycle Bus is to encourage pupils in local schools to cycle to school. The event for Bike Week will encourage maintenance of own bikes and safety awareness. reaching out to families will encourage families to cycle outside of school also and promote the social and health benefits of cycling. Two other local schools and the gardai will particiapate in thes event also so it reaches out into the wider community to get involved.
Inver NS is holding a special event to help children understand road safety while cycling. A local instructor will be invited to deliver a practical session on safe cycling. Pupils will also take part in a short cycle around the local area. An in-school art competition will promote creativity around the theme of bike safety, and relevant safety information will be shared with all students to reinforce key messages. This event aims to build cycling confidence, encourage safe habits, and celebrate Bike Week through both fun and educational activities.
Scoil Chlann Naofa will participate in a cycle. The children from 3rd – 6th classes along with teachers, parents and volunteers will cycle 6km, from the school, through the town and out the golf links road.
Leitrim Community Training Centre will take part in a guided cycle along the Blueway from Leitrim Village to Drumshanbo, identifying pollinator plants along the way.

Encourage leisure cycling
Ascain Training and Support are hosting a Bike Day for service users from HSE Ascain and The Willows, offering a safe space to rediscover cycling. Many once enjoyed biking but stopped due to mental health struggles. This event promotes well-being and joy—last year, one attendee was inspired to buy a bike and now cycles daily.
As part of Bike week, the annual City centre cycle is a popular event that involves local schools accompanied by volunteers and teachers cycle through the streets of Galway for 3.5km.

During Bike Week, senior pupils from Frosses NS will cycle to our Centre for refreshments and a raffle. Community members will be invited to try out our adult trikes, with regular group participants joining in. Our long-distance fundraisers will also reunite for a 5km cycle and post-ride social gathering.
On Wednesday 14th May - from 2.30pm - A fun and social easy cycle out to Blarney Castle, via quite back road and green way, on to the Blarney to Waterloo Greenway and back to Cork - meeting at Fitzgerald's Park, Cork City.
Errigal Cycling Club plans to hold a cycling event for the children on Tory Island in an attempt to promote and encourage the uptake of cycling on the Island.

Tir Chonaill GAP will host two Bike Week events: an introductory mountain biking session on new Coillte trails, and a safe 40km road cycle using the new N56 cycle path. Both rides offer scenic routes, promote cycling for all levels, and encourage community participation in active, enjoyable outdoor experiences on 14th May from 6pm - contact organisers for more information.

A ladies’ cycling event aimed at encouraging women of all ages to return to cycling in a safe, social setting. Participants will learn key road signals to build confidence, especially on main roads. The event promotes community, safety, and inclusivity, supporting increased female participation in local cycling through free access.
