Free Event. Join us for a 30-minute opening cycle commute on the Waterford Greenway, meeting at the Durrow Greenway Car park at 8.00am. Stopping for refreshments at 8.15am in railway cottage and leaving at 8.40am to get into the Dungarvan for 9.00am, with complimentary hot drinks and snacks.
Children will design their ideal bike as part of this event in school
Students will learn key cycling skills from Green Schools’ Aengus Kennedy before exploring their local national park by bike. This safe, supported experience builds confidence and road safety awareness. Parents can join to learn alongside their children, encouraging more cycling at home—especially for those without regular bike access or experience.
A cycling for all event, come and try a bike suited to your needs.
Active Schools Week is suitable for all age groups and it is suitable for all levels of cycling. This is a group cycle that will promote community engagement and education about cycling. This will take place at Turlough XL Shop at F23 DK81
Grassroutes Bike Hire will run eight inclusive cycling classes during Bike Week 2025 for students from Little Angels and St Bernadette’s schools. Sessions include bike fitting, safety checks, and adapted cycling skills, promoting confidence, physical activity, and independence. All equipment is provided, making cycling accessible and enjoyable for all abilities.
Range of Events for Bike Week at Lawrencetown National School Galway
To celebrate Bike Week 2025, we are offering free inclusive cycling sessions on the Limerick Greenway for people with disabilities.
Wheels For all is suitable for all ages and levels. This cycle is inclusive for families that have children with disabilities. This cycle will help promote awareness and safety when on bikes. This will take place at Manulla Football CLub at F23 KF66.
This skills evening will provide the children with the basic skills that are required when starting to cycle.
Members of Naomh Padraig Uisce Chaoin will take part in an event aiming to promote and encourage the use of the new Greenway when traveling to and from matches/training. The event will involve a one hour session at the club led by local cycling coaches focusing on cycling skills, cycling safety and guidelines for using the greenway. This will be followed by a guided cycle on the greenway and refreshments in the clubhouse.
Come along to the canal in Vicarstown and try out our tandem/adaptive bikes.
To introduce participants to multi modal travel and to try to develop a community of cyclists - Multi modal leisure cycle using the train to Midleton to meet with the cycle to the sea organisation for a presentation on their greenway sculptures - 12th May
