Public Transport updates

  • Check your TFI bus service times before travel – a Sunday timetable will operate on Monday 2 February 2026 on many TFI services; including Nitelink and 24-hour services. More details below
  • Luas services will run as normal on Saturday 31 January and Sunday 1 February 2026, with Sunday operating hours and frequency running on Bank Holiday Monday 2 February 2026.
  • Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail services : Major engineering works and revised timetables over St. Brigid’s weekend, from Saturday 31 January to Monday 2 February inclusive. Service amendments will be in place, including bus transfers. More details below

St Brigid's Day Bank Holiday Weekend Public Transport Service Dublin

TFI bus services operated by Bus Éireann will operate to a Sunday schedule on St. Brigid’s Day Public Holiday, Monday 2 February 2026

It is important for all intending passengers to check the operator website buseireann.ie

TFI bus services operated by Dublin Bus will operate a Sunday timetable Monday 2 February 2026.

A full Nitelink service will operate on Friday 30 January and Saturday 31 January 2026. There will be no Nitelink service on Sunday 1 February 2026.

Many 24-hour services are in operation seven days a week.

Luas will run as normal on Saturday 31 January and Sunday 1 February 2026, with Sunday Operating Hours and Frequency running on Bank Holiday Monday 2 February 2026.

On Bank Holiday Monday 2 February 2026 Luas will run Sunday Operating Hours and Frequency with services beginning at 7.00 am on the Green and Red Lines. Click here to check Sunday Operating Hours.

Major engineering works and revised timetables over St. Brigid’s weekend, from Saturday 31 January to Bank Holiday Monday 2 February (inclusive). Service amendments will be in place, including bus transfers.

Details: Upcoming Line Improvement Works

Planned engineering works and changes to Iarnród Éireann rail services include:

  • Connolly to/from Belfast Grand Central services
    • Saturday 31st January, Sunday 1st & Bank Holiday Monday 2nd February.
    • Due to Engineering Works between Clontarf Road and Drogheda on the above dates – there will changes adn disruptions to Enterprise Service, and Connolly to/from Belfast Grand Central schedules.
  • Cork, Limerick and Tralee services
    • Sunday 1st and Monday 2nd February – Cork Mainline (from Heuston Dublin)
    • Saturday 31st January, Sunday 1st and Monday 2nd February – Tralee Services impacted (from Mallow/Cork or Heuston)
  • DART services
    • Saturday 31st January, Sunday 1st & Bank Holiday Monday 2nd February
      • Due to engineering works between Connolly and Howth, Connolly and Drogheda on the above dates, there will be NO train service between Connolly/Howth and Connolly/Drogheda.
  • Northern Commuters
    • Saturday 31 January, Sunday 1 & Bank Holiday Monday 2 February,
      Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 February
    • Please note that due to Engineering Works between Clontarf Road and Drogheda on the above dates, the following service alterations and amendments will occur:
    • Bus services: Northern Commuter Services – Saturday 31 January, Sunday 1 and Bank Holiday Monday 2 February 2026
  • Galway and Westport services
      • Saturday 31 January and Sunday 1 February 2026
        • Due to Engineering works between Portarlington and Athlone, bus transfers are in operation and some services will operate with altered times.
        • Dublin – Galway: There will be bus transfers in operation between Dublin Heuston and Athlone, with trains operating between Athlone and Galway. Times between Dublin and Athlone have been altered, please see the Journey Planner for full details.
        • Dublin – Westport: There will be bus transfers in operation between Dublin Heuston and Athlone, with trains operating between Athlone and Westport. Times between Dublin and Athlone have been altered, please see the Journey Planner for full details.
