TFI Local Link bus services connect communities throughout rural Ireland as part of the TFI Public Transport Network. Over the last 5 years our Above & Beyond campaign has shone a light on the impact TFI Local Link drivers and staff have on the communities they operate within – this year is no different.

This year in our #Above&Beyond series, we celebrate 5 drivers who operate a variety of bus services across the TFI Local Link network and show that TFI Local Link services are more than just a transport service.

Eddie, TFI Local Link Kildare South Dublin

We celebrate Eddie who operates TFI Local Link Kildare South Dublin Route 821 Newbridge to Sallins.

There are many examples’ passengers could give of Eddie going above and beyond for his passengers. Eddie is really friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, chatty, fun, never in a bad mood and always gets everyone safely to their destination.

One passenger has said that “Every passenger that gets on the bus is made to feel welcome. He always makes a point to say hello and to ask how your day was, and at the end of your journey when you get off, he always says goodbye and safe home. If you ask any regular user of the 821, they’ll tell you how appreciated Eddie is by all.”

Kevin Kenny, TFI Local Link Louth Meath Fingal

We celebrate Kevin who operates TFI Local Link Louth Meath Fingal Route MH 122 Rathkenny to Navan.

Denise is described as very highly thought of by her passengers and also by the other drivers she works with. She always has a smile and a hello for everybody.

One passenger has said “We used route 834 with 12 pupils from our Autism classroom to introduce them to public transport. Denise was really patient with the boys as they boarded the bus, she greeted every one of them and helped them use their TFI Leap Cards. She was so kind to each and every child. It was encouraging for the boys and appreciated by all of us.”

Denise herself said she loves meeting new people everyday and when they become regular passengers “who get to know me by my first name it gives a great sense of achievement.”

John Cogley, TFI Local Link Wexford

We celebrate John Cogley who operates a variety of TFI Local Link Wexford Door-to-Door routes.

Everybody knows John and John knows everybody; And everybody knows a trip out with John will be a good one!

He is full of fun and care for all our passengers. Always going above and beyond in what he does.

As one customer said: “If it wasn’t for John and the Local Link I would be stuck at home and wouldn’t see a soul from one end of the week to the other. I have made great friends on the service and John is a gentleman that I look forward to seeing”.
