The annual cycle starts at Ballyadams NS to Fallaghmore Cross and return to the school. For parents, students, staff and family members, all students will be taking part.
Supervised 5km cycle with local schoolchildren from St. Colman's NS and Cosby National School around Stradbally Hall. Refreshments provided. Helmets needed. Bikes must be pre-checked and in good working order with tyres pumped. Helmets and Hi-Vis jackets must be worn. Start: St. Coleman's School Stradbally
A 45km cycle along quite country roads and woodland trails visiting the big 5 on the trek. Castles, Monastic site, Agrarian agitator, Nature reserve and hurling lore. Departing Durrow at 11am. Refreshments along the way.
A colourful and imaginative community bike parade through Clough village involving children, families and local residents. Pupils from the local primary school will be invited to decorate bicycles and scooters as part of their Green-Schools initiative, promoting active travel and sustainability. Garda Bike theft Prevention stand at Market Square, Abbeyleix. Gardaí engaging with cyclists and handing out crime prevention advice along with free hi visibility vests, armbands etc and sports water bottles procured by Laois Co. Co. To be held from 3pm-5pm
School students will cycle from Hunters lane down to the main gates of the lake and back to the start line for school children aged 5 to 12 years. Cycle will be 1 mile. Closed event
Market square Stradbally to Ballintubbert House 12 years upwards 30 minutes - 7.5km
Get moving with an early morning cycle along the canal, followed by a relaxing yoga session to boost your energy and focus for the entrie. Nutritious breakfast provided. Suitable for 12+ Start: Vicarstown Bridge
5th & 6th class pupils will cycle from Rath NS to Courtwood GAA, they will then cycle along the Barrow Blueway to Vicarstown and back. 6 staff members will also take part. Pupils with varying disabilities will also be included. In all the distance will be approximately 14km.
Pupils will bring bikes to local park where there is a 800m track for the children to complete a 5km cycle. The children will have a picnic after, family members and a safety officer will be invited for health and safety purposes Helmets and Safety lessons will be completed in class in advance.
4 KM BIKE loop from Portarlington town out and around Derryounce Lakes and Trails and back to town. All trail barriers will be open to allow cyclists to use the trails for cycling over a scheduled period (10am -12pm) on the day. Local school welcome
3rd , 4th, 5th and 6th class pupils along with teachers. sna's and local volunteers will cycle to Coolrain Park via Laois Angling Centre. This service will be provided by two bike mechanics, a demonstration of basic bike maintenance. Bring your bike for assessment and advice to the Bike shed Chapel St Durrow (Beside the Garda Station) 10.30am to 12.30pm
