We will hold the event in our local GAA club Mary;land GAA grounds. Each cjhild will bring their bike and we will employ coaches from the local triathlon club to facilitate the training. Children will be taught about safety on bikes on the road, the impotance of using safety equipment such as hi-vis jackets and cycling safely and responsibly. The coaches will show the children skills on the day and will hold a mini cycling evet at the club.

Come along for a free, family-friendly cycle parade with music, costumes and 4 pick-up points are Bangor Circle, Mount Argus Park, Harold’s Cross Park and Parnell Road (Fire station) for final Kiddie Kilometre ending at Eamonn Ceannt Park. Free Event. Join us for a 30-minute opening cycle commute on the Waterford Greenway, meeting at the Durrow Greenway Car park at 8.00am. Stopping for refreshments at 8.15am in railway cottage and leaving at 8.40am to get into the Dungarvan for 9.00am, with complimentary hot drinks and snacks.

Community Cycle to School Day with Scoil Éanna, Co. Galway for Bike Week
We will begin our day with a cycle to school every day for bike week. Meeting at market square in Dunfanaghy village to promote cycling and create an awareness in our locality. Guest speaker to talk to pupils around bike maintenance and bike safety. Make healthy smoothies as a refreshment
At Barefield National School a fun leisure cycle for all the school children, including a bike check on the day and some advice regarding proper maintenance - by Burren Cycling club.
Transition Year students will be encouraged to bring their bike to school and participate in a historical ‘Castles Tour’ going from Coláiste Iognáid to Terryland Castle to Menlo Castle.
Students form Magh Ene College will complete a 5km Cycle in the local area to raise awareness around cycling among students. They will hold a session on Bike Maintenance and Safety prior to the Cycle, hosted by the Green Schools Travel Officer.
Grassroutes Bike Hire will run eight inclusive cycling classes during Bike Week 2025 for students from Little Angels and St Bernadette’s schools. Sessions include bike fitting, safety checks, and adapted cycling skills, promoting confidence, physical activity, and independence.
Students will learn key cycling skills from Green Schools’ Aengus Kennedy before exploring their local national park by bike. This safe, supported experience builds confidence and road safety awareness. Parents can join to learn alongside their children, encouraging more cycling at home—especially for those without regular bike access or experience.
