Dublin Half Marathon Sunday 3 May 2026 @ O’Connell Street Dublin

List of Road Closures (subject to confirmation)

• Bus diversions will be in place for the duration of the race for Dublin Bus, Bus Éireann and Go-Ahead Ireland services.
• This includes O’ Connell street, Malahide road, coast road, Howth road, Drumcondra, Santry, Gardiner street and Clontarf. subject to confirmation

Dublin Bus – Dublin City Half Marathon 2026

We wish to advise customers that the Dublin City Half Marathon will take place on Sunday 03 May 2026.

To facilitate the race, the below areas will be closed to traffic,

• O’Connell Street Southbound will be closed between 03.00hrs and 13.00hrs.
• O’Connell Street Northbound will be closed between 06.30hrs and 10.00hrs.
• Talbot Street will be closed, west of Gardiner Street until 10.30hrs.
• Drumcondra Road will be closed inbound between 08.15hrs and 10:30hrs.
• Beaumont will be closed between 08.30hrs and 11.00hrs.
• Collins Avenue East will be closed between 08.30hrs to 11.00hrs.

Therea re a number of diversions over this weekend due to the various events/ planned roadworks across the city.

Due to the Dublin half marathon on Sunday 3 May, there will be diversions on routes 104, N2 and 73

• 104 Diversion will be from 07:00 to 11:30 on Sunday May 3rd

• The N2 diversion will be form 07:00 to 11:30 on Sunday May 3rd.
• Stops Affected:

• The 73 diversion will be from 06:00 to 10:30 on Sunday May 3rd
• Stops Affects:
  • 1172,1173,4509,499,500,1484,512,513,1481,7320,1486,1487,1497,1495,1496,1515,1499,1485,4518,501,510,511.8411,7402.

Friday 1st of May, there will be a diversion on our

• 73 service from 18:30 to 20:00 (due to city centre march)
• Stops Affected: 297, 1172, 1173.

Saturday 2nd to Tuesday 5th of May.

Note – Engineering works on Luas on James Street may cause delays on route 73

• LUAS Red and Green line will have closures and loops in operation.
• Green Line will go to St. Stephens Green and Dominic Street and
• The Red Line will run just to Smithfield

Services on Sunday, May 3 will be further impacted due to the Dublin City Council Half Marathon, resulting in temporary adjustments across both Luas lines.
Passengers are strongly encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time

Luas Red Line

• From 7:00: Bus service operates to Heuston only.
  No tram service between Heuston and The Point until approximately 9:45am.
• From 9:45 (approx.): Tram service resumes between Heuston and Connolly only to facilitate the marathon finish on Guild Street.
• From 14:00: Full tram service resumes between Connolly and The Point.

Luas Green Line

• 7:00 – 9:30: No tram service between St Stephen’s Green and Dominick
• Trams will operate:
  • Brides Glen to St Stephen’s Green
  • Broombridge to Dominick

Luas Park and Ride Information:

• On the Luas Red Line there are Park & Ride facilities
  • at Cheeverstown (J2 M7), and
  • Red Cow (left off M7 before Red Cow Interchange).
• On the Luas Green Line you can Park & Ride at
  • Balally (Dunrum),
  • Carrickmines (J15 M50),
  • Sandyford (J14 M50) and
  • Stillorgan (J14 M50)

Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail provide great links to Dublin city from all over the country, arriving to Connolly and Heuston train stations.

• From Heuston train station, take the Red Line Luas towards Smithfield.
• From Smithfield, 20 minute walk to O’Connell street
• From Connolly train station, 15-minute walk to O’Connell street
