Nationwide bus into Dublin (Bus Éireann):
If you are catching bus into Dublin bus station at Busáras, please board the Luas Red Line at the stops outside the station and alight at Heuston.
Heuston station Luas stop (Red Line) is a 9 minute walk to the Phosix Park gates, or 5 minute walk from Parkgate Street – from where some events provide a free shuttle bus.

Diversion on Route 26 (to be confirmed)

Dublin City Triathlon from 08.30hrs until 14.30hrs on Saturday 22 August 2026, Chapelizod Road will be closed. As a result, the following diversions will be in place on Route 26.

Towards Merrion Square
Normal route to Lucan Road, divert via Kylemore Road, Ballyfermot Road, Sarsfield Road, Chapelizod Bypass, South Circular Road, Conyngham Road and back on to normal route.
Bus stops 2244, 2245, 2246, 2247, 2248, 2249, 2250 and 2251 will not be in use during this time. Please proceed to stops 2243 Glenaulin, Lucan Road or 1472 Conyngham Road, Bridgewater House for your nearest stop location.

Towards Liffey Valley
Normal route to Conyngham Road, divert via South Circular Road, Con Colbert Road, Chapelizod Bypass, Palmerstown and back on to normal route.
Bus stops 2191, 2192, 2193, 2194, 2195, 2196, 2197, 2198 and 2200 will not be in use during this time. Please proceed to stops 1451 Bridgewater House, Conyngham Road or 2201 Palmerstown Drive, Lucan Road for your nearest stop location.

Bus routes to Bloom

If you are catching bus into Busáras,
please board the Luas Red Line at the stops outside the stations and alight at Heuston.
Heuston station Luas stop (Red Line) is a 5 minute walk from Parkgate Street – from where there is a free shuttle bus.

The 99 bus route

Due to preparations for Bloom, the access road to the visitor’s centre will be closed from Monday 25 May until Monday 8 June 2026.

As a result, the following diversion will be in place:

Route 99
Towards Phoenix Park Visitor Centre
Normal route to Phoenix Monument, divert and continue on Chesterfield Avenue, at next roundabout, return to Chesterfield Avenue and terminate at temporary stop opposite Furze Road.
Towards Parkgate Street
Depart Temporary Stop on Chesterfield Avenue, opposite Furze Road and back on to normal route.

Stop 8203, Visitor Centre will not be in use during this time.

Heuston and Connolly train stations provide great links Nationwide

• From Connolly Station, take the Luas (Red Line) to Heuston station stop.
• Heuston station is a 9-minute walk to the Phoenix Park gates.
• Dublin Bus 99 goes from Parkgate St to the Phoenix Park visitor centre

Heuston station stop on the LUAS Red Line is

• a 9-minute walk to the Phoenix Park gates;
• and 5 minutes walk across the bridge – to Parkgate street bus stop, from where you may be able to catch route 99 bus to the visitor centre, or shuttle bus during Bloom,
• or that bus stop is a 4 minute walk to the Phoenix Park gates.

Parkgate street is across the bridge from Heuston Station.

The centre of the Phoenix Park is easily accessible on foot. It takes approximately 

• 45 minutes to walk from the Parkgate Street Gate to the front entrance (Chesterfield Avenue) and 
• approximately 10 minutes from the Ashtown or Cabra Gates to the rear entrance (North Road). 
• The walk from the Castleknock Gate takes approximately 25 minutes.

• Dublin Bus 99 goes from Parkgate St stop to the Phoenix Park visitor centre. (Note it may not run on festival days (Bloom) or when the park is closed to traffic – Marathon and race days.

It’s possible to cycle right up to the visitor centre (or Bloom festival entrances) where cyclists can safely park and lock their bikes in our expanded cycle parks.

You may also hire Dublinbikes at  Heuston station, Available from 5am to 12.30am daily; and can be returned 24/7.
