TFI Local Link Cavan Monaghan, are delighted to announce new enhancements to the popular cross county daily commuter service, route 176.

Launching on the 11th of April, the enhanced service will now operate two additional daily trips and a new reduced Sunday/ Bank Holiday service.

The interconnectivity of route 176 provides a stronger link to national bus networks, hospitals and education services in Cavan and Monaghan.

TFI Local Link Cavan Monaghan Manager, Padraic Smyth said: “This is a significant enhancement to the 176 service that TFI Local Link Cavan Monaghan and the National Transport Authority are introducing. Responding to the demands identified locally, it will provide more sustainable mobility options for the Cavan Monaghan area, and benefit the rural towns and villages along the route.”

TFI Local Link Programme Manager of the National Transport Authority, Bláthín McElligott said: I welcome today’s announcement by TFI Local Link Cavan Monaghan.

I believe that the increase in service levels between Cavan and Monaghan will mean that more people in the area will have greater levels of freedom in accessing services, employment, education and retail, whether or not they have a car.

I look forward to seeing more interconnectivity of services throughout the country in the future
