The One @ One: A new late-night bus service pilot in Sligo, Buncrana and Longford

A new late night bus service is being piloted in Sligo, Longford and Buncrana.

The service is called The One @ One. It will run late at night on selected weekends in 2026 and aims to make it easier for people to get home after enjoying evenings in town.

The One @ One pilot is designed to:

• Support safer and easier travel after dark
•  Help people enjoy nights out without worrying about getting home
• Support local businesses that operate in the evening and at night
• Test demand for late night public transport in smaller towns

Routes in each town

The late night service will build on existing Local Link routes.

Following consultation with the National Transport Authority:

• TFI Local Link Donegal Sligo Leitrim plans to expand on Route 981 which operates from Coolaney to Sligo.
• TFI Local Link Donegal Sligo Leitrim plans to expand on Route 959 which operates from Greencastle to Letterkenny via Buncrana.
• TFI Local Link Longford Westmeath Roscommon plans to expand on Route 865 which operates from Lough Gowna to Longford. 

When the buses will run

The One @ One bus services will run late on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights on:

• • May Bank Holiday – Fri 1^st, Sat 2^nd and Sun 3^rd May
  • June Bank Holiday – Fri 29^th, Sat 30^th and Sun 31^st May
  • August Bank Holiday – Fri 31^st Jul, Sat 1^st Aug, Sun 2^nd Aug
  • October Bank Holiday – Fri 23^rd, Sat 24^th and Sun 25th Oct
  • Culture Night – Fri 18^th September

Who the service is for

The service is for? Everyone but particularly:

• People enjoying evenings and nights out
• People working late shifts
• Students and young adults
• Anyone who needs a safe and reliable way home at night

It is particularly aimed at supporting the Night Time Economy in each town.
