Ways to Pay on TFI Local Link

TFI Local Link has expanded its fare payment options to allow passengers pay via TFI Leap Card, Contactless card payment or the TFI Go App on eligible services. Going cashless offers convenience and savings of up to 30% compared to cash.

Free Travel Pass and Cash are also accepted and children under 9 years travel for free.

Please note that Contactless payments apply to single fares only. This feature is currently being rolled out across the regular TFI Local Link bus services and is expected to be on all regular services by end 2026.

  TFI Leap Card

  TFI Leap Card is Transport for Ireland’s prepaid travel card.

• With the TFI Leap Card your fares are up to 30% less than cash single tickets.
• You can buy a TFI Leap Card online here or at one of the hundreds of agents nationwide.
• The most convenient way to top-up your card is with the Leap Top-Up App for iPhone and Android.
• Adult, Student/Young Adult, and Child Cards available. Use travel credit to pay for single fares.

  Cashless payments

• We’re introducing contactless card payments for single journey tickets
  on regular TFI Local Link bus services.
• This feature will be available on all services by the end of 2026.
• You can purchase single journey tickets using:
  Visa or Mastercard
  Apple Pay or Google Pay
• Contactless fares are up to 30% cheaper than cash single tickets, offering great savings and convenience.
• Adult, Student/Young Adult, and Child Cards available.
• In order to avail of Young Adult or Student fares you must present a valid Young Adult or Student TFI Leap Card.

  TFI Go App

  TFI Go is Transport for Ireland’s mobile ticketing App,
  which allows you to buy & use tickets with your phone.

• Fares on TFI Go are also up to 30% less than cash single tickets.
• Your ticket is downloaded to the TFI GO App and can be used to travel straight away.
• No need to print. Just activate the ticket and show it to the driver while boarding.
• Adult, Student/Young Adult fares available. Single, return and 7-day ticket options.
