Van Morrison is a Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, author, poet and multi-instrumentalist, who is widely considered one of the most influential artists in the history of music. He has multiple albums that are ranked as the greatest in the entire rock and roll canon.Van Morrison has journeyed far and wide since his early days, however performing here is always a spectacle to behold. His live performances are always music making at the highest pinnacle of musicianship, and his songcraft is of the highest level of any living performer today. ‘One of the great singers in all of music, he remains at the absolute peak of his vocal powers. BICEP present CHROMA, LIVE AT THE MARQUEE CORK on the Bank Holiday Sunday June 02. The Irish duo have had a meteoric rise in recent years, selling out Dublin’s 3Arena last St Patrick’s Day, and standout epic festival performances at the likes of Forbidden Fruit Festival, Electric Picnic, Coachella & Glastonbury. Known for incredible audio-visual shows and standout sound, this year the BICEP boys present CHROMA, their audiovisual DJ Set, which they bring to CORK for the first time this June 02. Joined by JOY ORBISON, SALLY C & munsters own rising star SHEE.

Comedy superstar John Bishop is getting Back At It – doing what he does best – with a new tour for 2024 including 11 dates around Ireland this May and June. After two years spent TV presenting, stage acting, podcast hosting, dog walking and decorating the spare room, John is getting back to the thing he loves most; standing on stage and making people laugh. John said: “I’m delighted to be hitting the road again with my new show, ‘Back At It’. I did a few gigs in New York and in the UK and I’ve got the juices flowing again! I’m looking forward to seeing you all out there on the road.”

Since joining Irish based Reboot Management and Agency at the end of 2021 this young aspiring artist has made groundbreaking achievements such as selling out a long list of shows across several countries in Europe, UK, Australia and further afield ranging from 2- 15k capacity, booked as a headliner for some of Europe’s biggest underground dance music and commercial festivals and is pushing huge boundaries with his music with his own platforms amassing a 30+ million plays across some of his tracks on soundcloud and having his own monthly fan base of 200k+ listeners on Spotify alone plus the best is still yet to come.
DAMIEN DEMPSEY – Saturday 8th June 2024 ~ joined by Special Guests Hermitage Green
Damien Dempsey is a passionate singer and songwriter – a rare gem of an artist. An ex-boxer with the soul of a poet. The beautifully shot documentary ‘Love Yourself Today’, released in 2021, follows a number of individuals who have been strongly influenced by Damien and unearths their stories of overcoming pain and finding solace in his music. The film successfully explains the Dublin singer- songwriter’s appeal by focusing on what his songs mean to fans. 2023 saw Dempsey’s 20-night residency at the Abbey Theatre, with his hugely successful debut show, Tales from the Holywell. The Conor Pearson-directed production was followed by a 14-date Irish tour and a support slot for The Saw Doctors at Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl. 2023 has also seen the first new music from Damien since 2018’s sublime Union album. Hope Calling is the first single from his as yet untitled 2024 new album and is released via Sony Ireland.

Christy has released 30 solo albums from ‘Paddy on the Road’ (1969) through to his multi-platinum pair of live albums, ‘On the Road’ and ‘Magic Nights’ (2017 & 2019). LYRA is one of the most striking talents to have emerged from Ireland in the past few years. Hailing from County Cork, she’s established herself on both the domestic and international stage with a string of exciting, vibrant singles accompanied by a unique style of visual presentation that is never less than stunning. The last year has been particularly thrilling for LYRA, with the spectacular success of her one-two punch of hit singles: the ultra-catchy ‘Lose My Mind’ and the uplifting, dancefloor collab with John Gibbons on Stevie Nicks’ classic ‘Edge Of Seventeen’. In addition to these big tunes, she’s released successful collaborations with dance artist UNSECRET and Bill Whelan on ‘Riverdance: The Animated Adventure.’ She also soundtracked An Post’s Irish festive campaign with her track ‘The Magic Of Christmas’.

Sugababes became one of the most successful British girlbands of the 21st century with six Number One singles, millions of global sales and multiple multi-platinum albums. Along the way they told one of the most spectacular stories of the modern pop era, but it all started with one song, three voices and a mysterious white label 7”. Fast forward two decades, the original line up of Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy arrived back in full force becoming the talk of the summer festivals including having to shut down their field at Glastonbury due to demand. The next chapter for Sugababes is just getting started!

Initially an indie success story, The Coronas have been building their fan base for over a decade, becoming one of Irelands most loved and respected live acts in the process. Last year, they released ‘Time Stopped’, which went straight to number 1 in the album charts, becoming the first and only independent Irish act in history to score 3 consecutive number 1 albums. “The Marquee is a special venue in the story of The Coronas”, says lead singer Danny O’Reilly. “There’s magic in Cork and in that tent in particular that is impossible to match anywhere else.”

Few singer-songwriters are so able to capture the stuff of our intimate lives – love, heartache, loss, joy – like Gavin James. Honing his performing and song writing gifts as a busker and pub performer in Dublin, since being championed by the likes of Ed Sheeran and the release of his early records (including debut studio album, 2016’s Bitter Pill) James has built a community of fans that have seen his music streamed three billion times across the globe and earn diamond and platinum records in multiple countries. He has also sold more than 250 000 tickets (and counting) worldwide with a live show that is as transporting as it is uplifting. This Autumn, James returned with a new single, “White Noise” that sees him expanding his creativity (his vocal is in a deeper signature, adding a magnetic resonance to the lyrics) and is a precursor to a new album of original material that he’s recording in a studio on a mountain outside his home city of Dublin.

There is limited on-site parking for Live at the Marquee 2023, which you will need to pre-book online via Ticketmaster.
There are multi-storey car parks in the city. Some are open 24 hours with no time limit – and prices may vary.
Driving: a stop-go system in place along Centre Park Road, so be sure to get to the venue early if you’re driving as there may be some traffic delays
The Marquee venue is only a 25 minute walk from the city centre ( Patrick’s Street).
If you’re getting the train into Kent Station, it’s about a 30-minute walk to the Marquee.
Concert goers who can get the bus/train into the city, and walk to the Marquee.
