October Bank Holiday Arrangements 2026

  1. Dublin Bus
    1. A Sunday timetable will operate on Monday 26 October 2026
    2. Diversions will be in place from Friday 23 October to facilitate the Dublin Marathon 2026.
    3. A full Nitelink service will operate on Friday 23 October and Saturday 24 October 2026.
      There will be no Nitelink services on Sunday 25 October 2026.
      Please note: clocks go back one hour on Saturday night / Sunday morning.
      When getting a Nitelink they will depart as per their normal timetable, as if the clocks have not changed.
    4. 24-hour services
      We have 24-hour services which are in operation seven days a week.
    5. Due to the Macnas Halloween Parade, the following diversion will be in place on Routes 7, 7a, 13, 33, 41, 41b and 41c from 18.30hrs to 20.30hrs on Monday 26 October 2026. Bram Stoker festival 23-26 October 2026
  2. Dublin Bus – Special notice – The Dublin City Marathon
    1. The Dublin City Marathon will take place on Sunday 25 October 2026.
    2. As a result there will be a number of diversions in place from Friday 23 October until 18.00hrs on Monday 26 October 2026.
      Please see below for details on all diversions over the weekend.
      The diversions will take place due to the closure of Merrion Square South and East from 10.00hrs on Friday 23 October, Saturday 24 October and from first bus Monday 26 October 2026 until 18.00hrs.

      1.  customers travelling on our services – please note that the celebration of the Drogheda Festival of Lights from Friday 23rd until Monday 26th October 2026 will affect Route 173 only on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th October from 17:55 to 19:00.The following stops will not be served:

    1. On Monday 26 October, many routes may operate a Sunday timetable, and some may operate as normal.

    3. Local offices will close at 17.00 on Friday the 23rd of October and will reopen on Tuesday the 27th of October at 9.00.

Luas on bridge

 

Luas

Over the October Bank Holiday weekend, there will be some changes to Luas services due to the Dublin City Marathon.

  1. Sunday 25 October, Dublin City Marathon, 
    On Sunday 25 October, there will be a temporary partial closure on Luas Red Line, with no services operating between Heuston and Connolly / The Point from approx. 08:45 to 10:45 to facilitate the Dublin City Marathon.
    • Red Line trams will run between Heuston and Tallaght / Saggart in both directions during this time.
    • The Luas Red Line will be back to normal service, between Red Cow and Connolly / The Point at approx. 10:45.
  2. Bank Holiday Monday 26 October
    On Bank Holiday Monday 26 October 2026, Luas will run Sunday Operating Hours and Frequency with services beginning at 7:00 on the Luas Green Line and the Luas Red Line.
  3. Trams will run normal Operating Hours and Frequency from Tuesday 27 October.
