Fresh after the release of new solo album ‘Jenius’, Paul Heaton has announced that he will play Live at the Marquee Cork on Saturday 3rd July 2027 as part of his upcoming summer tour with his band featuring special guest singer Rianne Downey. 

Paul Heaton’s fabulous new album Jenius’ is produced by legendary producer Ian Broudie of Lightning Seeds and recorded at Blueprint Studios in Manchester. It features 15 new original songs, performed by Paul and his band with his regular live vocalist Rianne Downey‘Jenius’ is Paul’s 23rd album and comes almost exactly 40 years since his first, The Housemartins’ era-defining ‘London 0 Hull 4’.

Paul’s songs, both on Jenius and throughout his career, of love and loneliness, pubs and booze, community and counsel, a nod to football, the state of the nation, and the overall wisdom of kindness – are distinguished by his notably tender voice, his enchanting melodies and a meticulous, effortless craft.

Paul’s live shows will see him performing songs from throughout his career including classic tracks by The Beautiful South and The Housemartins.

 

Transport options

There are regular Nationwide busses to Cork’s Parnell Place.

Buses run at their normal schedules.

From Parnell Place(Cork Bus Station) /Cork city centre You can get the

  • Bus Eireann 202/202a from Merchant’s Quay (2 minutes walk from Parnell Place) to Mahon.
    Alight at Monaghan Road, Stop 237091, Ballintemple. (a short 10 minute walk from there)
  • Or Bus Eireann 212 from Clontarf Street and get off at the Munster Showgrounds on Monaghan Road.

From Kent Train Station, get the Bus Eireann 212 which goes from Kent Train Station to Mahon Point.
Hop on at Kent Station and get off at the Munster Showgrounds on Monaghan Road, just around the corner from The Marquee.

If you’re getting the train into Kent Station, Cork, it’s about a 30-minute walk to the Marquee, or Bus 212 as mentioned above, from Kent Station towrds Mahon – get off at the Munster Showgrounds on Monaghan Road, just around the corner from The Marquee.

On-site car park is on Marquee Road at Eircode T12 AX77.

There is limited on-site parking for Live at the Marquee 2023, which you will need to pre-book online via Ticketmaster.
There are multi-storey car parks in the city. Some are open 24 hours with no time limit – and prices may vary.

Driving: a stop-go system in place along Centre Park Road, so be sure to get to the venue early if you’re driving as there may be some traffic delays

The Marquee venue is only a 25 minute walk from the city centre ( Patrick’s Street).
If you’re getting the train into Kent Station, it’s about a 30-minute walk to the Marquee.

Concert goers who can get the bus/train into the city, and walk to the Marquee.
