Our Learn to Cycle tasters at Wicklow Bike Festival are an exciting and engaging program designed to teach children the fundamentals of cycling in a safe and supportive environment. Bike Fun Day rewards children who cycle to school during Bike Week with fun activities in the school yard. Led by teacher Luke Cape and pro cyclist Mitchell McLaughlin, kids will enjoy cycling challenges, prizes, and refreshments. It’s a fun, active event that promotes bike skills, confidence, and healthy habits!
Grassroutes Bike Hire will run eight inclusive cycling classes during Bike Week 2025 for students from Little Angels and St Bernadette’s schools. Sessions include bike fitting, safety checks, and adapted cycling skills, promoting confidence, physical activity, and independence.

Join us 17th May from 9am in Glenties during Bike Week for free bike “M-checks” by local mechanics, covering essentials like brakes, gears, and tyre pressure. Enjoy tea, coffee, and bike chats while learning basic cycling skills from our volunteers. Afterward, take part in a relaxed 10km cycle along the scenic local cycle path.
